The library has just released two seminars on the iconic Tibetan Book of the Dead: Tibetan Book of the Dead I, the 1971 Vermont seminar which inspired and introduced Chogyam Trungpa and Francesca Fremantle’s historic translation of The Tibetan Book of the Dead that clarified these teachings for the English-speaking world. The second seminar, The Tibetan Book of the Dead II, is a follow-up 1973 seminar which presented the teachings from a more accessible three-yana perspective. Never published, this seminar was intended to be clear up any misunderstandings from the previous vajrayana approach.
Introducing the new release is an article by Leandra Ziegler giving historical background and featuring interviews with Judy Lief, Ginger Brooks, and Deborah Luscomb on how they bring Trungpa Rinpoche’s teachings into their death-related work.
