Support the Library!

Dear Friends of the Chögyam Trungpa Institute,

December is upon us, and the end of 2025 is fast approaching! As you contemplate ways to close out the year with generosity, expansiveness, and a meditative spirit, please consider supporting our work at the Chögyam Trungpa Digital Library.

Perhaps you’ve used the Library this year to listen to talks, read articles, or learn more about Trungpa Rinpoche’s presentation of buddhadharma. Or perhaps you aspire to do so in the new year, and have a list of talks that you’d like to explore!

Maybe you’re hosting a dharma study group and are digging into a juicy video series. If you were a direct student of Chögyam Trungpa’s, perhaps you feel inspired by the opportunity to “pay it forward” so that new generations of dharma students may benefit. Or maybe you simply enjoy encountering the occasional mind-stopping clip of Trungpa Rinpoche on social media.

Whatever your motivation for giving, all contributions—from a $5 monthly donation to $2500 and beyond—are essential in building the Library and making Trungpa Rinpoche’s teachings available to the world.

Support the library

“I have recently found the online library…This lineage and the way these teachings have been translated, preserved, and taught to students in the context of Western culture shows Trungpa Rinpoche’s steadfast dedication and devotion to truly spreading the teachings of the Dharma far and wide. They have captivated me and transformed my life and I would love nothing more than to further my studies and play my part in preserving this lineage for generations to come.”

DEEP CONNECTION, EXPANSIVE REACH

Connecting broad audiences with Trungpa Rinpoche’s teachings and creating accessible pathways into the material are two top goals for the Library. We are excited about how far we’ve come! Since our launch, over 47,000 people from 120 countries have visited the Library; our social media following has grown to 12,000; and our posts reach tens of thousands of viewers, including thousands of new people with every release.

And this audience is engaged! We regularly hear from people who are using the Library in meaningful ways—for personal study, on retreat or road trips, or in study groups and classes. Another sign of how much our audience cares about this project is their generosity: more than 600 unique donors have contributed to the development and growth of the Library.

The Digital Library relies on these donations for our current work and future growth. Join the hundreds who have contributed! With your support, we look forward to expanding the Library in 2026 and beyond!

“Amazing work, including how you are communicating it here [on social media]. Thank you!!!”

Infinite gratitude to the relentless efforts by the team! Kudos to you all! Also love the pictures, and posters and old magazine clippings…so precious

Hearing this voice mid-scroll puts everything on pause. Thank you.

NO TALK LEFT BEHIND!

Our motto at the Library is No Talk Left Behind!

There are over 1,500 recordings of Trungpa Rinpoche speaking to public audiences, but more than 1,000 have never been published in any book. In those unpublished recordings are countless hidden gems, fresh analogies, and lively exchanges with the audience. He never gave the same talk twice!

That’s where the Digital Library comes in. Our small but mighty team is working to make every one of those 1,500 recordings accessible in the Digital Library. Every recording goes through many hands: we remaster audio and video; manually transcribe every talk; check and copy edit transcripts; create time-stamped captions and searchable metadata; write summaries, articles, study guides, and newsletters; make video/audio clips; design social media posts; and more. Read more about our process here!

For our team—many of whom are dharma teachers or teachers-in-training—this work is a deep form of study and practice. Your support allows us to continue devoting our time to this labor of love.

 Help us complete the collection!

“I read through the About Our Work page, and I felt moved to reach out and express my heartfelt appreciation. The dedication and care poured into preserving Trungpa Rinpoche’s teachings is truly inspiring and paves the ground for Dharma education [in] the digital age. Having spent time manually transcribing… I know firsthand how much focus and diligence it takes to preserve teachings like these. Nowadays, the younger generation often finds traditional Buddhist teachings distant or irrelevant. By bridging Trungpa’s priceless teachings into the digital age, you’re not just preserving a lineage—the Digital Library is providing a lifeline. Making these teachings available to younger, tech-savvy people ensures that their transformative wisdom stays alive and dynamic for generations to come. Thank you for making these teachings accessible to all, now and for the future.”

Digital Library User

We hear it again and again from our users, and experience it ourselves: spending time in the Digital Library allows all of us to truly feel the depth, breadth, and vitality of Chögyam Trungpa’s teachings. Listening to his voice—his tone, humor, precision, and presence—brings the teachings vividly to life.

This collection of recordings is Trungpa Rinpoche’s living legacy. Help us continue to make this vital, evolving resource available for generations to come.
